"C" is for Cookie

So being the nutritionally conscious mother that I am... When your child won't eat his vegetables, give him cookies! No, not sounds advice. This was after he choked down, swallowed several bites of the peas.
Do I look like the kind of mom who would ever let her child indulge in sweets, especially this young!
Does he even look like he is the kind of child who would enjoy sweets?
Of course he does!
And yes, I'm the kind of mom who will enjoy them right along with him!

These are homemade biter biscuits my mom found a recipe for! All ingredients can be found organic and are typical items kept on hand! Easy as can be for a fun baby treat and endless parental entertainment!

1 ½ cups unbleached flour

½ cups whole wheat flour

½ cup maple syrup

3 Tablespoons applesauce

Heat oven to 300*. Place all ingredients in a bowl and stir with wooden spoon until dough begins to hold together. Dust counter with flour and knead dough lightly until dough is smooth- 3 minutes. Roll out with pin until 1/3 inch thick. Cut out biscuit making a doughnut shape. Transfer biscuits to a greased cookie sheet. Bake until barely brown, about 35 minutes. Let completely cool on cookie sheet. They will harden slightly more if you leave them out over night. Store for up to 2 weeks in a container.
