My New Appetite!

A growing boy needs his food! Harrison's appetite has taken off beyond what just nursing has provided! Our very observant little man has been staring us down at meals, smacking his lips, drooling, and already has chewing down pat! He also had decided to start waking up again during the night after having been sleeping through. Putting it all together we realized that our guy had a growing appetite! It was time to add some new items on his menu! Harrison is very excited about this change and is already living up to the typical endless boy appetite. I'm seeing large grocery bills and lots of cooking in my future! I love this growing boy so much!

Isn't my new sippy cup the coolest? I'm such a grown up boy because I refuse to take a bottle- I like to roll with the big kids!
Don't I still look so small behind the cup though? But I think I'm big stuff!
Yum! I love my cereal! I've had no problem eating off a spoon! I open wide and eat it up! I hollar (nicely) for my next bite before Mom or Dad has barely gotten the spoon back to the bowl!
Daddy let me do it myself! I think I am big stuff!
But my aim is not very good; I missed my mouth a bit...
Ok, I missed my mouth a lot! :)

This is my new trick-sitting alone, somewhat...
I like watching Fox News!
With my Dad, of course!
Check out my new basketball jersey! I'm ready to take you on MJ!
I think I am pretty cook when I play ball!
Yeah, I am one handsome little athlete!

Story for Harrison About His Dad

Once there was a crazy teenager named Matt. He lived on Taco Bell and Mountain Dew, he drove a little blue Mazda, and thrived on late nights and sleeping in. He played football in the rain, he played, um studied, hard in Florida at school, and played xbox with the guys until unknown hours of the night.
Matt met a girl named Megan. He was such a gentleman to her. He brought out the best in her and they became inseparable.
Soon after Matt went to law school and worked very hard balancing school, work, and spending time with Megan.
Matt worked even harder and bought a ring to ask Megan to marry him!
She said Yes!

Matt married Megan and working together he finished law school! He is an amazing man! Life seemed pretty perfect. He had a job, a car, a home, a wife, a big screen tv! What more could a man want?
God showed Matt something else He had planned for his life. He gave Matt the responsibility of becoming a Father!
Matt was so excited to become a Dad! He was so excited God gave us you! Now Matt knew this is what his life had been missing- you!
Your Daddy loves you so much! He is an amazing man that I can't wait for you to get to know. I pray you become just like him as he instructs you in becoming a man after God's own heart! He prays for you and leads us with Godly wisdom. We are very blessed to have Matt as our family leader!
As far as I can tell, you love your Dad too! You think he is pretty awesome and I'm really glad you look like him too! Matt has excelled at everything he puts his mind to. So being the most wonderful Dad ever is no surprise! So Harrison, you have a great man to become like!

Happy Father's Day to most wonderful Daddy!

What I Have Learned From A Baby

I used to think to myself about how I have been given this little baby that has a lot to learn about life. How am I ever going to be able to teach him everything I desire him to know. But I have nothing to worry about. My little guy is already incredibly smart. He is teaching me things I never knew or just forgot. He has a way to bring my attention on the "grown-up" problems in life back to the simplest forms- he has taught me that I have a lot to learn.

Harrison's Life Lessons-

1. It's ok to have a good cry every now and then.

2. If something smells stinky- it should probably be changed.

3. If at first you don't succeed, keep tyring

4. Sometimes a hug really does make everything better.
5. Just because something is bigger than you, doesn't mean you can't handle it.

6. Even when I do worry about problems, Someone bigger and stronger Who loves me a lot will carry them for me.

7. You can never outgrow playtime!

8. You can learn a lot be just being still.

9. Sometimes a smile is all you need to say- you can communicate a lot clearer without words.

10. You never stop learning.

Great Weekend!

I had such a great weekend- I was a busy guy!

I played some basketball with Dad!

Then after the game, I took a bath- Don't you think my new bathrobe looks fun? Yeah, I look cute! Thanks Great Nanny!

Then we went out to lunch, but...

I decided to play with mom and dad and not look at the camera for a picture.
Haha, now I'll close my eyes and make a face! This is fun!
Ok, maybe I'll just peak through my eyes at the camera.
Ok, ok mom! You're tickling me! I'll laugh and smile for a picture!
Then Dad and I had a nice talk about golf- he was explaining the rules.
I like the sound of golf! Maybe I'm a future Tiger!?!
At least my parents think I could be, but they think I can be anything. I think they love me a lot! Yeah, life is good!

A Reminder...

Just in case you were wondering... I am the... Isn't that awesome?

Our Rainy Day

On most days Harrison and I spend as much time as possible outside. We sit on the patio, run errands, or take long walks- sometime 2-3 walks a day! Harrison loves being outside! But today was nasty. It rained hard all day. The kind of rain that soaks you through, not the light rain that would be ok with an umbrella. We tried that before. I put Harrison in the front pack carrier, I held an umbrella and we walked in the light rain. But today was not that kind of rain. So we entertained ourselves indoors. We read books. Harrison's favorite is "Put Me in the Zoo". The main character has large bright spots on him and Harrison loves talking to the pictures as I read.
After a little while of reading, Harrison's talking to the pictures becomes more like yelling at the pictures and thus is my cue that reading time is over. So we looked for something else to do. We went to clean up the bathroom, but Harrison discovered the cutest baby in the mirror! He liked that baby a lot!
He waved at that baby...
He smiled at that baby...
He talked and talked to that handsome baby. He tried everything he knew to get that baby's attention. He was waving and trying to get that adorable baby. It was very entertaining. But even the cutest baby in the world did not keep Harrison entertained forever. On to something else...So I figured, if we can't go all the way outside, how about right to the edge? I opened up the patio door and sat Harrison in front of the screen. Now this was pure entertainment- the kind that lasted...
and lasted...

and lasted...
and lasted!
And soon the little guy had enough and called it a day. Sleep good my handsome guy, I hope your dreams are filled with our fun rainy day together! I love you!
