Throwback Thursday

Celebrating our past and blessings along the way.
Join us for Throwback Thursday! I laugh every time I see this picture! Matt and I had been married for two years and I was working as a pediatric nurse. The hours were not enjoyable, the stress mounted quickly inside those medical walls, and tears (on my part) were not uncommon. Some days dragged on harder than others. This day was not one of the nice work days and I texted that to Matt. My wonderful husband showed up at my work with this caffeinated goodness within the hour! I must tell you he was a knight in shining armor in every sense of the phrase coming to rescue me with carbonated caffeine! He saved the day, put a huge goofy grin on my face, and I fell in love even more with my Prince Charming and his Double Big Gulp bouquet!
Harrison, you will be a Prince Charming to some very blessed young woman. Bouquets may not always be flowers, chocolates may not always be the answer- sometimes she may just need caffeine! The way to know the difference is to be sensitive to her needs, learn her little quirks, and be willing to give your time, resources, and energy to make her feel valued and loved. Learn from your amazing Daddy- he is a great example to follow because he does it so well!

If You Build It They Will Come...

...with cameras. I was minding my own business- deep into my world of Lego's Building, creating, designing, forging new architectural frontiers...
And here comes Mommy with the camera. Secretly I love this part; hamming it up for the camera. But who knew just playing quietly with my Lego's could send her running for that camera so fast?
But I love getting my picture taken, and pairing that with Lego's? Well I think it's a great combination! Back to building!

Pizza! Pizza!

Harrison had his first meet up with one of my favorites, no sauce cheese pizza. I hope these two get along because this pizza frequents our household. So we introduced the two, and well... At first his tongue must have just hit crust because there was not a big reaction, but...
Look at those eyes once the taste buds hit melted cheesy perfection!
Needless to say, Harrison and pizza made friends fast! Our little guy was speechless and still for as long as I have ever seen him be in quite awhile!
And because I, myself, am a technical difficulty, I cannot turn the video- but you will still be able to hear the cutest little guy savoring his slice :)

Riding In Cars With Boys

Harrison loves cars! He loves watching them and hearing all the cool noises, especially revving engines-what a boy! Yesterday Matt let him play in his car together... Are you sure I'm allowed Dad? Look Mom, one hand!
Ok, time to get serious about this driving stuff!
Look at all those dials, lights, and instruments...Cool!
Two handsome drivers!

Paper Boy

The following is what happens when Harrison gets to the paper before his Daddy does...First he reads the front page headlines...
Obviously his opinion differs from that of the reporter...
So he scraps any idea of reading any further articles and attacks the paper...
And has a BLAST!
Peek-a-Boo Harrison!

Throwback Thursday

Celebrating our past and blessings along the way!
Join us for Throwback Thursday!
One year ago this week Matt was sworn into the State Supreme Court as a lawyer! We had so much going on during that time. Our emotions were all over the place. I wrote it about it some on this post. We could hardly believe we were at this point after many long years of school and study. I guess we thought this would feel like a finish line so to speak. But on that day we both agreed it felt more like the beginning of a new phase. We were very overwhelmed by what we had been through and what was ahead of us. But we just looked at each other and soaked in that day, and we've tried to do that since; just enjoying one day at a time.

Life is full of endings and beginnings. We could stress ourselves out by either always looking back and missing what we had or by worrying about what's ahead and how we will handle the unknown. Harrison, the sooner you learn this the more peace you will have; live each day as it comes. Focus on the present, the here and now. You will miss out an many blessings if you take your eyes off of today. Don't hang onto yesterday for the security of familiarity and don't stress about tomorrow and what's to come. Today is a gift you have been given; don't misuse use these precious hours of opportunity to live God loud, to grow, to enjoy, to be a blessing, to learn.
I love you Harrison! Grow in Him!

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?"
"And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
Matthew 6:25-34

We have been signing to Harrison since birth. He understands a lot of our signs such as "Yes", "All Done", "No Fussing", and "More Please". This past weekend he started grasping his hands together every time we said and signed "More Please" to him. After doing it more times other than just to be a coincidence we realized he was signing to us! As of yesterday he has become consistant doing this cute little combination sign of "want", "more", and "please" .

Isn't that the cutest! It is so great to be able to communicate with our baby! I think he likes it a lot too! I think though it makes him feel like a bigger boy than he is, because we all know he wants to be five years old already! :)

Jumping Up and Down

Harrison's Mimi and Papa have a trampoline. Harrison loves to jump in our arms and has such a blast in his Johnny-Jump-Up we wanted to gently introduce him to the springy mat of the trampoline. I think Harrison and the trampoline have bonded! Why does the ground sink up and down Daddy? I don't know about this- this is weird!
Well, maybe it is kinda cool. I think maybe I like the way it bounces...
I do like the way it bounces!!! This is a blast!
I like you Mr. Trampoline! I can't wait to jump some more!

First Haircut!

Our handsome little man was starting to sport quite the hairdo. He had a one inch patch of hair in the front that had grown considerably longer than the rest of his hair. This made for a very stylish comb over. It was time for some grooming. With a few snips of the scissors our little guy was looking mighty handsome I must say!So they really think this spatula is going to keep me distracted from trying to grab those shiny scissors? Ok, well maybe it does- this spatula tastes great! What is Mimi doing to my hair? Everyone is "oooing" and "ahhhing"; I think I like this attention! Got to trim up the back too- I'm looking mighty fine! Are we almost done? I've been really patient. The haircut is over! What a handsome (squirmy and ready to get down) guy!
