14 Weeks with Cinco de Clark

How Far Along: 14 weeks (see, a week behind still)
Size of Baby: Just under 3 1/2" about the size of a peach
Gender: We'll find out in about five weeks!
Maternity Clothes: Not yet, thanks to tunic styles and empire waist dresses :)
Movement: Feeling a few more frequent taps and flutters
Cravings: Turkey sandwiches, fruit, Mexican food, cereal
Symptoms: The lingering nausea is hopefully on its way out soon. My energy level is picking back up and with the four kiddos that's a very good thing!
Best Moment of the Week: I love how much Wils loves our baby already. He loves to hold the ultrasound picture from all the back at 8 weeks. He'll try to look through my belly button to "see" the baby and blow it kisses :)

13 Weeks with Cinco De Clark

How Far Along: 13 weeks (I'm already a week late. Get used to this, it's probably a trend :p)
Size of Baby: 3" about the size of a lemon
Gender: We will find out early October. So far the votes are-
Jefferson- "I want it to be a lady, but I think it's a boy"
Wils- A baby!
Me- I have no clue!
Maternity Clothes: Not yet, but baby is already popping out so with cinco de Clark I'm thinking maternity clothes will be making a sooner appearance.
Movement: Started to feel some fluter taps this week!
Cravings: Turkey sandwiches, dry cereal, dill pickles, fruit, and cream of fruit oatmeal (exact same cravings as all my other babies at this point. What can I say, I'm predictable!)
Symptoms: Morning sickness (aka, all day sickness) is still hanging around and it's definitely worn out its welcome. It's been one crazy challenge taking kids to the pool, parks, and grocery shopping while trying to keep breakfast down!
Best Moment of the Week: Being able to start feeling baby and seeing a baby bump beginning- proof that all the nausea is totally worth it! :)  I also wanted to document that I got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time two weeks ago, best sound ever! It was steady at 169 the whole time we listened and I don't think I could ever get tired of hearing that rhythmic beating.

What Jeff Knew

We can't remember if it was one or two days before Matt and I were staring at the little blue lines on the positive pregnancy test, but either way, we didn't yet know about our growing tribe.
We were in the kitchen and Jefferson came in saying something about our next baby. Since it was totally out of the blue I asked him if he thought we were having another baby in our family.
He carefully set down the toy he was holding and slowly walked towards me with his hand outstretched. He spread his little fingers across my tummy and laid his cheek against it. I looked up at Matt who mirrored my "What in the world?!" expression. Jefferson stepped back and said, "Yep, there's our baby in there," and scooped up his toy and left to play like nothing big had happened.
But Jeff knew first about this new baby. And this new baby has some very special big brothers and a sister waiting to meet him/her!
And throwback to that time when Harrison knew about a third brother a full almost a full year before we did!

7th Heaven

If at first you don't believe, try, try again.
I definitely did not believe the little blue line, or the second one, so off to the store for more tests.
You'd think by this point I'd have the general idea of how a pregnancy test works, but when the number "5" is circling in your head like a shark, your mind starts wondering odd things like, is there an app for parenting a small tribe?
But those little blue lines still kept popping up, and soon odd things like my morning cup of coffee leaving me nauseous or falling asleep during Paw Patrol with my three year old, and then there was no denying it, I must be getting the flu.
But my midwife begged to differ and when all six of us crowded into a dark room to watch a screen we saw that incredible little baby with little hands and little feet and the life screaming flicker in the middle of its chest.
And then suddenly it was seven of us in that room; Matt and I, the cheering big brothers, the now big sister, and the tiny new baby God hand picked for our tribe, I mean family.
I won't deny the shock, but neither can I deny the incredible love and protection we already have for this little one. We are in awe of each of our FIVE kids and soaking in our own 7th Heaven.
