Our Baby Boy

Ok, if you couldn't tell, we are absolutely beside ourselves with giddiness over our news! Matt is head over heals about having his little boy. We just spent the morning out shopping and could hardly contain ourselves as we looked at boy clothes and wandered up and down the boy toy aisles. Matt was picking up footballs, baseball bats, matchbox cars, and Tonka trucks talking about how he would teach our son to play with and use it, etc. He was so cute and he is so in love with his son. I just love having my men!!! I feel so spoiled already as Matt talks about how he will teach our son about taking care of his mommy! I think I'm in love with my little boy already! While we were out we couldn't resist buying something for our little guy! We took some pictures so you can join in our excitement. Who knew buying onesies could be so much fun! Also, my husband couldn't resist and bought his son his first football! It's actually a Redskin ornament that is plush, but it is so perfect! Now our son gets to have an ornament on our tree this year! Can you feel our excitement?! :)
I have to comment about the whole ultra sound experience yesterday! It was the most incredible sight seeing our little boy punch and kick around on the screen! He was so animated and inquisitive. He kept following the ultra sound wand around my tummy. The tech would try to change views and he would flip around trying to follow it; you could see his little face watching, it was just so amazing! Of course the large amounts of orange juice I downed right before the visit probably gave him his surge of energy to show off for the camera, but it was so much fun! Afterwards we went to celebrate our little boy at one of our favorite restaurants in the area. It is a special place because we always went there when we had something to celebrate or something big took place in our lives. So we couldn't think of a better thing to do than to take our "son" to dinner to celebrate!

We are currently on the search for names for this little man and as soon as we feel a peace about who this blessing is, we will be announcing his name! We are having so much fun looking at all the boy names and meanings. It has actually been very neat to do together.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Matt and I agree that this year we feel a little extra space of thankful in our hearts! :) We pray God's wonderful blessings on you this Thanksgiving!

IT'S A . . .

Being knit inside where you cannot see

God's design is being made perfect in me

Formed in secret, molded to His ways

My life shouts forth my Maker's praise

One part my Mommy, one part my Dad

I equal the shared love they have

I'm growing, kicking, I hear your voice

Just wait, one day I'll add to the noise!

I can't wait for my birthday when we get to meet

Count the fingers on my hands and the toes on my feet

I know you're all wondering, "think pink?" or "think blue?"

Now I'm ready to tell that special secret to you

I decided to cooperate to announce to the world . . .

Congratulations!!! GO BLUE!
We're having a BOY!!!!!!

I'm 13 ounces and 11 inches long! I'm already a big boy!

Message from Matt and Meg-

We can hardly believe it! Today officially marks the halfway point of this pregnancy! It is amazing at how fast the time has gone and how much our baby has developed and grown. Our little one is now ten inches long and weighs ten ounces! That is incredible seeing just a few short weeks ago our baby weighed barely an once! Well, at least that explains my ever expanding belly and new to our baby's resume, its kicking ability. Yeah, our baby is a star kicker already making waves across my tummy, and on top of my vital organs. :) Our little one provides us with nightly entertainments of making my tummy poke and jump with its kicks and flips. It also seems our baby loves church! Every Sunday baby dances and squirms through the praise music and kicks for the whole sermon. It is hard not to laugh at all its antics during church, but sure does tune me into God's creation bringing praise to Him even if the baby can't use words yet!

This is a VERY exciting week! Not only is it the halfway mark, which we celebrated with a wonderful date at a favorite lunch spot today, but it also includes a very important midwife visit this week. That's right, it's the week of the long anticipated ultrasound! By Friday night we will know whether this little one is to be wrapped in pink or blue! I have no words to describe our excitement. Like I told Matt, it's like one long Christmas Eve this week. I can't sleep leading up to it, because I'm so excited! I know Thursday night will be very difficult to drift off and Friday I will be counting the minutes until our late afternoon appointment. But Matt and I decided we will have to go buy something gender specific next weekend, just for fun, because we can then! We can't wait! We are praying our baby cooperates for the ultrasound. We told the baby this is the only time in its life it can show off! :) We just can't wait to be able to say he or she about our baby and to start thinking about names! It will also be neat just to "see" our baby for the first time and watch its movements on the screen. I can't wait to see its little profile and hands and feet! I think I will be in complete awe, crying, or a mix of tons of these kinds of emotions. Matt and I talk about it every day as the appointment gets closer, just very thankful we live in an era where ultrasound provides a way we can enjoy a window into our baby's world. As you can tell, we are very excited for Friday, so you can pray this week goes by quick!

Keep a look out here on Friday night! We will post the news of our arriving blessing and let everyone know whether we are having a little girl or a little boy!

Baby, we are praying for you, we love you, and we are so excited to "see" you on Friday!
