Join us for Throwback Thursday! During law school Matt and I had an amazing opportunity to attend a number of balls, black tie events, and galas. It was a girl's dream to be able to dress up in gowns and whirl around the ball room! Matt and I looked forward to these events for weeks planning our attire, shining shoes, playing with different hair styles and jewelry combinations. We put a lot of time and thought into our outer appearance.

Harrison, sometimes we put too much of our time and attention into focusing on our outer appearance. We consume ourselves by wondering what other people may think about what we wear, how we walk, what we look like, etc. These are false and shallow wastes of time.

Harrison, the Bible says in 1 Samuel 16:7 "For God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart."

I pray you will consume yourself with keeping your heart always looking its best. Stay pure and lovely before our Heavenly Father; blameless in His sight. Dedicate your time to being your best in Christ. Don't judge others on their outward appearance either, but look for their virtue and integrity and their actions from the heart.

I love you Harrison and your perfect innocent heart.
