Whole Hand Birthday Interview with the Princess

This interview took on a life of its own. 

Madison was so excited for her birthday interview; she had been asking for days on end when it would be time for me to ask her "the birthday questions". So when the time finally arrived she arranged two tall chairs and had my laptop, wore her favorite sparkly ball gown and sat with ankles crossed. 

I should have filmed it. 

She answered the questions with excited poise and all the execution of a princess giving a royal interview. At the conclusion she politely asked if I could ask a few more she would like to include. 

So without further ado, here follows Madison's improved birthday interview...

What is your favorite color: Pink, and purple, but I love pink!

What is your favorite thing to play: Princesses, my pink princess tent, sparkly play doh, and picking flowers.

What is your favorite thing to eat for breakfast: Oatmeal with blueberries in it and dinosaur oatmeal

What is your favorite thing to play outside: the sandbox, swinging, jumping on the trampoline, hide-n-seek, tag, look for new flowers and picking them

What is your favorite song: Rapunzle's song (I See The Light), Anna's song (For The First Time In Forever), Elsa's song (Let It Go), Mulan's song (Reflection), and Jesus Loves Me

What is your favorite thing to eat for lunch: strawberries, blueberries, grapes, apples, not cooked snap peas, not cooked green beans, no cooked big carrots, not cooked sweet potatoes, and grilled corn still on the cob. 

What is your favorite book: Fancy Nancy books, Princess Twins books, Princess and the Pea, and Madeline 

What is your favorite thing to sleep with: More Baby, my pink flashlight, my new More Baby, my blue mermaid, my unicorn, my llamacorn, and my big Minnie Mouse

What do you want to be when you grow up: A mommy, but how will I know what to do? Will you teach me? (You better believe it baby girl, but I guarantee the second you become a mom, you will know what to do.) 

Who is your best friend: I have so many! Addi, Lucy, Eliana, Cambrie, Boaz, Eliza, Millie, Bubby, Jeppy, Wils, Baby, Daddy, and Mommy!

What is your favorite holiday: Valentine's Day, Christmas, my birthday, and everyone in my family's birthday! (She proceeded to list out each of her immediate family and then every single member of the extended family, one. by. one.)

What is your favorite show to watch: Fancy Nancy, Butterbean's Cafe, Minnie Mouse, Madeline

What is your favorite animal: Unicorns, ponies, horsies, lions because they have beautiful soft hair, foxes because they have the soft fur around them which is pretty and beautiful, and bees because they pollenate flowers and I love flowers. But I do not like mosquitoes and their bites!

What is your birthday meal: Granola bars, strawberries, pecans, apples and dip, blueberries, raspberries, and a picnic in front of the fire with s'mores. (She wanted a bon fire, but due to the rainy day we will postpone that for this weekend.) 

What is your favorite fruit: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, and birthdays because I get to eat the yummy fruits all day! (Not really)

What is your favorite thing to drink: water, poppa tea, milk, coffee, and juice

What is your favorite special treat: All of them! I really like chocolates wrapped in pretty foil and popsicles and Italian Ice, but seriously, all of them! 

What is your favorite movie: The Tinker Bell movies and all the princess ones. 

What is your favorite thing to wear: Dresses, ball gowns and twirly ones, and lace socks, but not the shirts that go all the way to your neck, I really don't like to wear those (turtlenecks).

If you could travel anywhere where would you like to go: the beach, or the playground, a donut shop

-Those are great places and hopefully soon we can go to those again. But for now, use your imagination and dream where in the whole world you'd like to travel on a trip.-

Hawaii, but it's a long way! Oh and Paris because that's where Madeline lives and Fancy Nancy speaks French. 

What is your favorite Bible story: When the grave was empty on Easter morning because Jesus was alive and everyone was celebrating, "Hooray!"

What is your favorite sword (Bible verse): John 3:16 because it's everything about God and He can give you everlasting life!

And now for Madison's self conducted interview portion-

Which one is your favorite princess: Rapunzle, Jasmine, Mulan, Belle, Elsa, Anna, Ariel, Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Tinker Bell

What are your favorite shoes: the tall sandal ones that go all the way up to my knees, gold ones (gladiator sandals she's been asking for and getting for her birthday shhh), high heels like Cinderella's, and sparkly ones.

Madison, each day with you is a gift. You are so confident and radiate beauty inside and out. You are full of imagination and endless possibilities. You are so kind and thoughtful, sweet and generous. You have just enough feistiness to be the little spice to your sweet. You are usually dripping in play jewelry and wearing a dress but that doesn't mean you don't hold our own with your brothers. You can play and work hard with the best of them and aren't above dirt and sweat. 

You love exercising because of the cool down stretches, you love doing the cobra stretch. You love cookie dough and fresh raw veggies. You pick handfuls of flowers every day you're able and run barefoot through the fields with your pink painted toes. You love your Daddy's humor and no one can make you dissolve into giggles quite like him. You hardly leave my side as you want to copy everything I do from brushing my hair to folding laundry. You are so creative and love to design. You spend hours designing castles and houses out of Dupos and Legos. Recently you've become very aware of fashion and have paid attention to the smallest of details like sleeve styles, material used, length of bodices, and hem lines. You adore your brothers and have an incredible, unique relationships with each of them. 

You are so intelligent and love to learn; you are constantly asking questions or wanting to know more. You love school and beg to do more "pages". You would spend a whole day reading books if you could. Your heart is tender and open to correction when needed, always willing to learn and better yourself. You have endless questions about God and His gift of life. We pray this curiosity keeps blooming into seeking a personal relationship with Him. 

We know God has created you for very special things. We are honored to be your parents. 

We love you our sweet princess.
